Human trafficking is often thought of as a problem “somewhere else.” The reality? It’s happening right here in the United States.
Stats:
An estimated 27.6 million people worldwide are victims of human trafficking (International Labour Organization, 2022).
In the U.S., the National Human Trafficking Hotline identified over 16,500 victims in 2021 alone—and experts believe that’s only a fraction of the real number.
Roughly 1 in 6 runaway children reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children were likely child sex trafficking victims.
How We Respond:
At Free International and Say Something, we focus on both prevention and rescue. Through school assemblies, law enforcement partnerships, and on-the-ground searches, we shine a light on hidden exploitation. Our teams work tirelessly to bring children home, raise awareness in vulnerable communities, and provide resources to protect families.
