God Restores What Was Broken

Scripture Reading

“He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” — Psalm 23:3

Devotional Thought

Faithfulness in the unseen can feel exhausting — especially when the brokenness we encounter runs deep.

In the work of rescue and justice, we often meet people whose lives have been shattered by trauma, abuse, and exploitation. Restoration rarely looks quick or clean. It unfolds slowly, layer by layer, as trust is rebuilt and dignity is restored.

Psalm 23 reminds us of a powerful truth: restoration is God’s work before it is ours.

We do not heal people.
We do not fix souls.
We do not carry the weight of full restoration.

Our role — alongside Free International — is to create space for healing, protection, and hope, trusting God to do what only He can do. The Shepherd leads gently. He restores patiently. And He never abandons the wounded halfway through the process.

If you’ve been tempted to measure impact by speed or visible outcomes, let this be your reminder: slow healing is still real healing. God is not rushed, and neither is His redemptive work.

Reflection Questions

  1. Where have you been tempted to rush restoration — in others or in yourself?

  2. How does trusting God as the Restorer free you from carrying too much weight?

  3. What does it look like to walk patiently alongside someone in their healing journey?

Prayer

Shepherd of our souls, thank You for being gentle with the broken. Teach me to trust Your timing and Your process. Help me walk faithfully with those who are healing, confident that You are restoring what was lost. Amen.

Here’s how your contribution makes a difference:

Your partnership helps bring light into some of the darkest places in our nation. By standing with us, you join a movement that rescues, restores, and equips communities to fight human trafficking and exploitation.

What Your Support Makes Possible:

✅ Leading mission teams into cities most affected by trafficking, bringing hope and practical resources.
✅ Hosting school assemblies that reach thousands of students with life-saving messages about bullying, exploitation, and suicide prevention.
✅ Training teachers and administrators to recognize warning signs and protect vulnerable youth.
✅ Providing resources, aftercare, and long-term hope for survivors of exploitation.

Why Your Support Matters:

  • For Individuals: You can be part of the rescue. Your monthly or one-time gift turns personal compassion into tangible impact, helping survivors and protecting the next generation.

  • For Churches: Partnering allows your congregation to live out the Great Commission by standing against injustice, mobilizing mission teams, and supporting community restoration in cities like Las Vegas and Detroit.

  • For Gyms & Fitness Communities: Fitness for Freedom events allow gyms to raise awareness, host competitions, and show that strength is not just physical—it’s about defending and restoring lives.
